Mr. Willie Jason McGee of Jackson Street, Halifax, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 64.
Mr. McGee was born in Ethiopia on May 4, 1945 and was the son of the late Ms. Virginia Lewis and was married to Mrs. Thelma White McGee. He was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church and was a United States Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam era. Mr. McGee was a former security officer with Halifax Regional Hospital.
Mr. Willie Jason McGee is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma W. McGee; one son, Mr. Jason McGee of Halifax; one brother-in-law, Mr. Leon Dixon of Alexandria; two devoted cousins, Ms. Olivia Carpenter and Ms. Mamie Davis, both of New York, NY; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Jason McGee will be held Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. with services at Banister Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #99.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Crawford House Chapel in Halifax, and the family will receive friends at the residence, 120 Jackson Street, Halifax.
