Mrs. Jean Marie Foster Pool of 1203 Peach Avenue, South Boston died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at her home. She was born in Halifax County Aug. 1, 1928, and was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Pool was the daughter of the late Willie Allen Foster and Virginia Covington Foster and was married to Wilton Ervin Pool, who survives.
She was a member of Stoneville Presbyterian Church, Stoneville, NC and attended First Presbyterian Church and Berry Hill Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Pool formerly worked in the North Carolina School System and was with Virginia Power for 15 years.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her caretakers and special friends, Lyric Hutchinson, Rosa Sharp, Hazel Lacks and Joyce Landrum.
One son, Foster Pool, preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pool were held Friday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Gorman officiating. Burial followed in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends Thursday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at her home.
