Mrs. Louise Henderson Blankenship of Rosehill Drive, South Boston died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at The Woodview nursing home at the age of 101.
She was born in Pittsylvania County on June 29, 1908 to the late Daniel and Emma Myers Henderson and was married to the late Eugene Blankenship.
She was a homemaker and a member of Woodberry Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Blankenship is survived by a son, Fred Blankenship of Alton; two daughters, Faye Kuykendall and husband Dean of Madison, GA, and Judy Gillespie and husband John of Louisburg, NC; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services for Mrs. Blankenship will be held Monday, Nov. 16, at 2:30 p.m. at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel in Danville. Interment will be in Highland Burial Park, Danville.
The family will receive friends at Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel Monday from 1-2:30 p.m. and other times at the home of her son, Fred Blankenship, 5003 Harmony Road, Alton.
