Floyd William King

Mr. Floyd William King of 7244 Hunting Creek Road, Clover, died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at his residence at the age of 85.

Mr. King was born in Halifax County on May 30, 1924 to the late Mr. Richard King Jr. and Mrs. Lula Johnson King. He was married to the late Mrs. Vernice Hill King and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church.

Mr. King was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel.

Mr. Floyd William King is survived by three daughters, Ms. Ruth Perkins of Alabama, Mrs. Iretta Lovelace of Hempstead, NY, and Mrs. Vera Goode of Clover; two sons, Mr. Floyd Junior King of Baltimore and Mr. Jerry King of Richmond; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Mr. Joseph Goode; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Floyd William King will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl T. Howerton Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family is receiving friends at the residence, 7244 Hunting Creek Road, Clover. Public viewing was from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday at Jeffress Funeral Home Chapel.
