Mr. Charlie “Scrummy” Davis Snead Sr. of Clover died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Halifax County on April 3, 1923 and was 91 years of age. He was the son of the late Jack Snead and Pearl Snead and was married to the late Pauline Rebecca Rickman.
Mr. Snead was a member of Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Annette Casen and husband Otis, Frances Roller and husband Ronnie, all of Mt. Laurel, and Connie Day and husband Mike of South Boston; two sons, Charlie D. Snead Jr. and Michael D. Snead and wife Connie of Mt. Laurel; 12 grandchildren, Cindy Parham and husband Chad, Candice Evans and husband Robbie, Keith Snead and wife Dana, Stephen Casen and wife Wendy, Stephanie Kauneckas and husband Philip, Amy Lewis and husband Michael, Susan Bettini and husband Chris, Leslie Lewis and husband Steve, Megan Day and fiance’ Scott Wilkins, Erin Anderson and husband Bruce, Kim Snead and Brad Snead; his great-grandchildren, Jaci Parham, Eli Evans, Abby Casen, Cody Casen, Bryce Bettini, Cameron Bettini, Blair Lewis, Tori Lewis and Mia Lewis; special friend, Faye; and his siblings, Hampton Snead, Macie Blackstock, Rosa Vassar, John Henry Snead and Pauline Crews.
Funeral services for Mr. Snead will be held at Mt. Laurel United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Don Pizzeck officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will visit with friends at the church Friday, June 20, from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
