Ann Bowman Gentry, age 64, formerly of 453 Airport Road, Ringgold, entered into rest on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Woodview Nursing Home in South Boston.
She was born on Dec. 6, 1949 in Danville and was the daughter of the late Claude Bowman and the late Dorothy Lowe Bowman.
She was a loving wife and mother and a hard working, dedicated member of her community.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gentry, who was a loving husband and father.
She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Lacks and husband Mike of South Boston and Pamela Gentry and fiancé Doug Perkins of Virgilina; two grandchildren, Autumn Roberts and her husband, Jon, of Timberlake, North Carolina, and Nicole Wilson of South Boston; two great-grandchildren, Sophie Wilson and Madilyn Wilson, of South Boston; two sisters, Linda Saunders and her husband Ron of Keeling and Mary Pruitt of Danville; and one brother, Randy Bowman, and his wife, Robbie, of South Boston.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gentry was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Bowman.
A memorial service will be conducted at the residence of Tina and Mike Lacks, 6041 Melon Road, South Boston on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Danville Cancer Association.
