Mr. William Stanford Adams Sr. of South Boston died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Halifax County on July 5, 1935 and was 78 years of age. Mr. Adams was the son of the late Keister W. Adams and Hope Nicholas Adams.
Mr. Adams was a member of First Baptist Church and was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Survivors of Mr. Adams include one son, William S. Adams Jr., of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Sallie Wade Adams and husband Tom and Betty Hope Adams and husband Greg, all of Alton; one brother, O. Tuck Adams, and wife Pam of Rock Hill, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Ann Elizabeth Adams; three grandchildren, Griffeth Lawson Kaiser, Nicholas Marshall Kaiser and William Stanford Adams III; and three step-grandchildren, Lisa McGlothlin, Megan Morgan and Kristina Mullens.
Two brothers, Charles Thomas Adams and Keister N. Adams, also preceded Mr. Adams in death.
A graveside service will be held Monday, June 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dave Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at First Cross Roads Baptist Church cemetery with military rites.
