Mr. Freddie Stephens of Nathalie died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 70.
Mr. Stephens was born in Halifax County on Oct. 11, 1943 to the late Mr. Boyd Stephens and Mrs. Bettie Terry Stephens. He was married to Mrs. Georgia Otey Stephens and was a member of Millstone Baptist Church.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia O. Stephens, of the home; two sons, Mr. Sir Freddie Stephens and wife Stacey of Owings Mills, Maryland, and Mr. Santo Stephens and wife Damaris of Marietta, Georgia; one daughter, Ms. Mattyna Stephens, of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ola Wolford, of Nathalie; two brothers, Mr. Alexander Stephens and wife Colette of Greenbelt, Md. and Mr. Junius Stephens and wife Cynthia of Inglewood, California; one uncle, Mr. Henry Terry; one aunt, Mrs. Evelyn Layre; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the devoted Mr. Louis Dunkley.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Arthur Lee Stephens.
Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Stephens will be Saturday, May 3, 2014, at noon at Millstone Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax and all other times at the residence, 1133 Alchie Lane, Nathalie.
