Mr. Marshall Scott of 2301 Parker Avenue, South Boston died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 73.
Mr. Scott was born in Halifax County on May 8, 1940 to the late Mrs. Olivia Scott Wyatt. He was married to the late Mrs. Elizabeth Cameron Scott and was employed by J. P. Stevens for over 35 years.
Survivors include one son, Mr. Marshall Frederick Scott, of Danville; two grandchildren, Ms. Shatima Scott and Mr. Marshall Frederick Martin, both of Harlem, N.Y.; one stepson, Mr. Jerry L. Faulkner, of Afghanistan; three stepdaughters, Ms. Shirley Cameron of Roxboro, N.C., Mrs. Darlene Walker and husband Sylvester of South Boston and Mrs. Shenita Casmir and husband Gene of Bronx, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ms. Catherine Lewis of Hartford, Conn., Ms. Portia Baines of St. Michaels, Md. and Ms. LaDonna Sydnor and husband Ronald of Nathalie; one brother, Mr. John A. Scott, and wife Faye of Hartford; two sisters-in-law, Ms. Delois Wyatt of Halifax and Ms. Pauline Cameron of South Boston; one brother-in-law, Mr. Willie Cameron, of South Boston; one devoted cousin, Mr. Albert Watkins, of South Boston; a host of nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his mother and wife, one sister, Ms. Sarah Wyatt, one brother, Mr. James D. Wyatt, and one stepdaughter, Ms. Claudia Cameron, also preceded Mr. Scott in death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 6, at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Elder Brandon Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence. Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
