Mr. William Douglas Majors of Billy’s Lane, Halifax died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at MCV Hospital in Richmond at the age of 57.
Mr. Majors was born Jan. 15, 1957 in Halifax County to Mr. William Edward Majors and the late Mrs. Mary Emmaline Childress Majors.
He was married to Mrs. Gladys Edmonds Majors and was in the U.S. Army.
Survivors of Mr. Majors include his wife of the home; one daughter, Ms. Theodora Yvonne Majors, of Halifax; one grandson, Master Montez Majors; his father of Halifax; four sisters, Ms. Rochelle Springs and husband Eli of Fredricksburg, Ms. Barbara Edmonds of Vernon Hill, Ms. Loretta Hill of Richmond and Ms. Angelica Majors of Blacksburg; two brothers, Mr. Kilbert Majors and wife Barbara of Stafford and Mr. Kenneth Majors and wife Renorma of Virginia Beach; 11 nephews, six nieces, three uncles, seven aunts and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his mother, one brother, Mr. Darrell W. Majors, also preceded Mr. Majors in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, at 2 p.m. at the Crawford House chapel in Halifax with Pastor Ray Craig officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stovall family cemetery with military rites by Post 99 and U.S. Army.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 7 at the Crawford House chapel in Halifax and other times at the residence, 1237 Billy’s Lane, Halifax.
