Mrs. Violet Seamster Hazelwood of South Boston died Sunday March 30, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Charlotte County on June 10, 1932 and was 81 years old. She was the daughter of the late Sig Singfield and the late Carrie Williams Seamster and was married to the late Walter Herbert Hazelwood.
She was of the Methodist faith and was a retired seamstress from Tultex.
Mrs. Violet Seamster Hazelwood is survived by two daughters, Rita Hazelwood Smith of South Boston and Debby Hazelwood Parton of South Boston; one son, Roger Dale Hazelwood, and wife Deborah of Chase City; two sisters, Frances Seamster Clark of Scottsburg and Marie Seamster Moody of Clarksville; one brother, Albert Seamster, of Midlothian; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Jimmy” Seamster and Luther Seamster.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Clover Cemetery with the Pastor Wayne Daniels officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home, 449 Crescent Dr., South Boston.
