Mrs. Mabel Perkins Conner of Halifax died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at her home.
She was born in Halifax County on Feb. 7, 1931 and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Issac L. Perkins and the late Ethel P. Perkins and was married to the late Andrew Thomas Conner.
Mrs. Mabel Perkins Conner is survived by three daughters, Joann Aldridge and husband Rick of Orange, Frances Loftis and husband Pete of South Boston and Lois Foster and husband Chris of Halifax; four sons, Issac Conner and wife Joanna of Yanceyville, N.C., Thomas Conner of Nathalie, Charles Conner and wife Kim of Halifax and Roger Conner and fiancé April Tingen of Halifax; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one sister, Hazel Hersman, of Richmond.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew Perkins, Daniel Perkins and Charlie Perkins.
Graveside services will be Monday, March 31, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Union UMC Cemetery in Halifax with the Rev. Todd McClure officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Roger Conner, 5047 Mountain Road in Halifax.
