The Halifax County School Board has scheduled a work session tonight as part of its end of the fiscal year meeting to authorize the payment of any outstanding bills. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the school board office conference room on the first floor of the Mary Bethune Office Complex.

Two dedications took place in downtown South Boston Sunday afternoon when the Berryman Green Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution rededicated the Retreat to the Dan Wayside and presented the NSDAR Commemorative Marker to town officials officially recognizing the memorial as an official historic site of the DAR.
