No foul play is suspected in two recent deaths that occurred in South Boston based on the preliminary results from the chief medical examiner’s office in Richmond.
According to South Boston Police Sgt. R. E. Redd, on March 4 police and rescue personnel responded to 1014 Sixth Street in South Boston where the resident, Walter L. Meadows, was found dead on the front porch.
On the morning of March 5, police and rescue personnel responded to Hodges Street where Lucy Majors was found dead in the grass.
Preliminary reports indicate that both died from environmental cold exposure.
Toxicology results relating to both cases may take several weeks to complete, Redd said.
