No arrests were made, and no drugs were seized following a thorough narcotics search of Halifax County High School Thursday morning, Sheriff Fred S. Clark said.
Personnel from the South Boston Police Department, Halifax Police Department along with Halifax County Sheriff’s Department K-9 units and dogs from neighboring jurisdictions conducted a narcotic search at the high school early Thursday morning, the sheriff said.
Officers and K-9s worked together on this project to ensure the safety of the county high school students and staff members, authorities said.
Earlier this year after completing a similar drug search using K-9s, authorities said they planned additional searches to further ensure the safety of the students and staff members of the Halifax County School System.
Sheriff Clark said his office plans to continue using this type of proactive approach to maintain drug-free zones in all county schools.
He expressed appreciation to everyone who assisted in Thursday morning’s search.
