Employee injured when vehicle crashes into Loan Max

A Loan Max employee was injured and transported to Halifax Regional Hospital after 65-year-old Mary P. Brooks of Red Oak crashed her 1998 Ford Expedition through the front glass of the Loan Max building in Centerville Thursday afternoon.

According to South Boston Police Sergeant Ronnie Edmonds, Brooks was preparing to park when she hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and slammed into the loan office.

Injured in the accident was 24-year-old Tiffany Farmer of Oak Level who was working inside the Loan Max office at the time of the crash.

Farmer complained of injuries to her leg and was transported to the hospital, according to Edmonds who said the accident remains under investigation.

No further details were available at press time regarding pending charges.
