Woman struck by vehicle in Walmart parking lot

Charges are pending against an 87-year-old Buffalo Junction woman after a pedestrian was struck in the Walmart parking lot Monday morning.

According to an accident report filed by Cpl. J. C. Berry, Catherine B. Sizemore was driving a 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis when she struck 40-year-old Kim Logan of Nathalie as she attempted to park.

Logan was transported to the emergency room at Halifax Regional Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries, Berry said.

No damage was reported to the Mercury.

A 40-year-old South Boston woman faces a charge of failure to drive to the right of center following a single-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday at 4:30 a.m. on State Route 706, one mile west of State Route 704, according to an accident report filed by investigating Virginia State Trooper J. R. Abbott.

Tonya M. Medley was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured when the 2006 Chevrolet Impala she was driving ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Damage to the Chevrolet was estimated at $4,000, according to the report.

A 26-year-old Halifax man received minor injuries and was transported to the hospital Friday morning following a single-vehicle accident that occurred on State Route 676, one-tenth of a mile west of Highway 57.

According to an accident report filed by Abbott, Jeffrey R. Easley was driving a 2004 Nissan Altima when he ran off the road to the right, then ran off the road to the left, and again ran off the road to the right striking a telephone junction box and tree.

Easley was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.

Abbott did not file any charges against Easley in connection with the 9:11 a.m. wreck.

Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $3,000.
