A light agenda awaits Halifax County School Board members when they meet tonight at the Mary Bethune Office Complex at 6 p.m.
Talking budget matters will be on their minds as they are scheduled to set a proposed budget timeline tonight.
Board members also are expected to hear a presentation from Principal Priscilla Rice on the Cluster Springs and South Boston/Halifax Early Learning Centers.
Chairman Kimberly Farson is expected to recognize the school board clerk during Virginia School Board Association School Board Clerk Appreciation Week, and Superintendent Dr. Merle Herndon is expected to recognize school board members since February is Virginia School Board Association School Board Member Appreciation Month.
Director of Operations and Maintenance Larry Roller is expected to give a facilities maintenance work summary.
Under new business, Director of Finance Jay Camp is expected to give the financial report and seek payment of the bills.
Prior to adjourning, board members will go into closed session to discuss personnel and student discipline.
