No one hurt in Thursday bus school wreck

A Halifax County Public Schools bus was rear ended early Thursday morning while making a stop to pick up a student on Volens Road in the northern section of Halifax County.

No students were injured, and no damage was reported to the bus, according to Halifax County Public Schools Transportation Coordinator Earl Womack.

Sydnor Jennings Elementary School bus driver Linda Scott was stopped on Volens Road when she was rear-ended by a car that went under the back bumper of the bus, Womack said.

The bus sustained no damage, but Womack said he estimated the car sustained $1,500 in damage.

Virginia State Trooper B. L. Crews investigated the wreck.
