Man faces charge in deadly 2010 accident

A 44-year-old Clover man faces a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter stemming from a wreck that occurred Sept. 28, 2010 in the Town of South Boston, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Jeffrey Fuller Barnett of Mt. Laurel Road was charged with the alleged offense that claimed the life of 70-year-old Thomas Graves of Crawford Road, Halifax.

Deputy S. Britton served the warrant Thursday.

At the time of the wreck that occurred on River Road, north of Wildflower Drive, Barnett was airlifted to Lynchburg General, and Graves was airlifted to Duke Medical Center.

 A passenger in Graves’ 1994 Cadillac Deville, 42-year old Henry Coleman, was taken by Patient Transport to Halifax Regional Hospital, according to the accident report filed by South Boston Police Officer T. M. Carrington.
