Library board members will hear an update on the FY 2015 operating budget and an update on their strategic plan during their meeting Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Halifax County Library.
In other new business, the board will vote on a change in the library’s circulation policy.
They plan to change the wording in the “Overdues” section to read “Mailed overdue notices will be sent on a daily basis.”
Board members also are expected to hear a report from the recent Virginia Public Library Directors Association meeting.
A group of directors of public libraries meet twice over the course of the year, usually at Graves Mountain Lodge in Syria in the spring and fall.
These meetings are scheduled for directors to discuss various topics and meet with representatives from the Library of Virginia.
Library Director Jay Stephens is slated to give a statistical report, a financial report and the director’s report.
Library Branch Manager Chris Thompson also is expected to give his report.
