A 23-year-old Nathalie man died Thursday at Lynchburg General Hospital from injuries he received in a freak work accident.
Ryan Tribble, son of Angela Tribble and Wayne Tribble, was fatally injured after being struck by a piece of metal while working at Hawkins-Graves, Inc. in Lynchburg, according to Maj. L.T. Guthrie of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.
“The sheriff’s office received a call at 9:23 a.m. from Hawkins-Graves at 13432 Wards Road in Lynchburg that an employee had been severely injured in a shop area accident,” Guthrie said Thursday afternoon.
Tribble was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital Thursday morning where he died later in the day.
OSHA was called to investigate the accident, Guthrie said.
Tribble, a 2009 Halifax County High School graduate, was an avid outdoorsman and skeet shooter.
In 2007, he was named the high over all skeet shoot champion at the Halifax County Gun Club.
Funeral arrangements for Tribble were incomplete Thursday afternoon.
