Songwriter T. Graham Brown will be the featured guest at this year’s National Day of Prayer slated for Thursday at 6:45 p.m. at the Halifax County High School auditorium.
Brown will share his testimony and entertain the audience with his hit country songs.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the National Day of Prayer event when thousands gather all across the country to unite in prayer as they worship God.
This year’s theme, “One Voice United in Prayer,” is taken from Romans 15:6, “So that with one mind and one voice, you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Prior to the evening event, members of the National Day of Prayer committee plan to kick off the special prayer day praying on the steps of the Halifax County Courthouse at noon and at 1 p.m. outside the South Boston Town Manager’s Office.
The public is invited to come and pray with the National Day of Prayer committee members at these times.
Next, public prayer will take place at the flagpole at Halifax County High School at 6:30 p.m.
Prayer will continue as the main emphasis throughout the night event with individual prayers being offered for the government, military, church, media, business, education and family.
Also as part of this year’s local prayer event, Christians will offer testimonies, and the Rev. Jack Stewart will recognize and honor local fire departments.
The event is free to all, and the public is invited to attend.
