A registered voter who will be unable to go to the polls to vote in the Nov. 6 election, due to health or being out of town on business or school, may vote by absentee ballot, according to Halifax County General Registrar Judy Meeler.
The Halifax County Registrar’s Office, located in Mary Bethune office complex at 1030 Cowford Road in Halifax, will be open this Saturday and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for this purpose, Meeler said.
Normal working hours at the registrar’s office are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The last day that an absentee ballot can be mailed for registrants in need is Tuesday, Oct. 30.
Nov. 3 is the last day that in person absentee voting can be done, Meeler said.
