51 retiring employees honored in special ceremony

Outgoing School Superintendent Paul Stapleton congratulated a cafeteria full of retiring school employees and their family members on their well-deserved retirement Monday evening during a retirement reception held at Halifax County Middle School.

“Very proud of all of you…congratulations on your retirement,” said Stapleton.

Stapleton, who joked with the crowd, said he wouldn’t give a speech, but instead he chose to read a couple of inserts from a card that was given to him.

“Nap without guilt.”

“Relax.”

“Take time for yourself.”
