Nathalie man sentenced to 30 years in indecent liberties case

A 28-year-old Nathalie man, Eric Thomas Comer was sentenced Monday in Halifax County Circuit Court to a total of 30 years in prison, with all but five years suspended, for two charges involving solicitation of a child.

Appeals over in shooting; $750K judgment awarded

The estate of Randolph Neal Seamster Jr. is set to receive a judgment of $750,000 as the result of a civil suit in which a Halifax County jury awarded compensatory and punitive damages stemming from a shooting incident at Sheetz in Riverdale on July 2, 2008.

South Boston man pleads to B&E, larceny

A 41-year-old South Boston man, Dean Jeffrey Palmer, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Halifax County Circuit Court to a felony charge of breaking and entering and a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny.

UPDATE: Image of robbery suspect released

Police arrest shooting suspect in South Boston

Michael Jones, 32, of South Boston was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of malicious wounding, use of a firearm to commit malicious wounding and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to South Boston Police Office records.

Authorities charge man with assault with intent to maim charge

A 21-year-old Virgilina man faces a charge of felony assault with intent to maim, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

UPDATE: Warrants issued in South Boston shooting

Warrants have been issued for 32-year-old Michael Jones of South Boston stemming from a shooting that wounded 34-year-old Antonio Jones of South Boston outside Fairmont Apartments between midnight and 1 a.m. Sunday.
