Pair charged in Halifax break-in

A South Boston man and a Halifax man have each been charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny stemming from a break-in that occurred Wednesday at the residence of Charles Bane on Pine Haven Trail in Halifax.

Alton woman faces felony grand larceny charges

 

A 26-year-old Alton woman faces two felony charges of grand larceny, one felony charge of fraud under false pretense and a misdemeanor charge of fraud under false pretense, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Sara Courtney Hereford of Paradise Road was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Oct. 9, and Sgt. T. C. Spencer served the warrants Sunday.  

 Charlie Gray Webb, 57, of Charlotte Street, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 9, and Cpl. P. C. Clayton served the warrant Friday.

 Michael Wayne Satterfield, 49, of Red Bank Road, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of making threats over the telephone.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 4, and Deputy S. Britton served the warrant Friday.

 Carrie Deann Bartee, 21, of Mount Carmel Road, Alton faces two misdemeanor charges of contempt of court.

The alleged offenses occurred Feb. 14 and May 4, and Britton served the warrants Friday.

 Lewis Acosta, 32, of Spruce Lane, South Boston faces two misdemeanor charges of vandalism.

The alleged offenses occurred Sept. 24, and Britton served the warrant Friday.

 Kenneth Melvin Doss Jr., 20, of Highland Hills Drive, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrant Saturday.

 Quintina Loufrance Jennings, 48, of Harris Drive, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of making annoying phone calls.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 6, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Sunday.

 Ricky Wayne Guthrie, 51, of Trottinridge Road, Chase City, faces a misdemeanor charge of making threats over the telephone.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 4, and Cpl. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant Monday.

 Charlene Naycole Foster, 22, of Willow Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Foster was charged with the alleged offense Monday. 

Halifax County authorities are investigating a larceny that occurred sometime over the weekend in Alton.

According to Sheriff Fred Clark, someone stole the batteries from two tractors on the farm of Jerry Carter Jr. of Wilkins Road. 

Inv. Crystal Yeatts is the investigating officer.

 

Halifax man faces felony charge

A 56-year-old Halifax man faces a felony charge of larceny of an animal worth more than $200, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.
