SoBo man faces malicious wounding charge in stabbing

A 48-year-old South Boston man has been charged with one count of malicious wounding following a stabbing that allegedly occurred on Leighwood Trail in Halifax Saturday night.

According to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark, Kelvin Faulkner of Greens Folly Road is being held in the Blue Ridge Regional Jail with no bond following the incident.

Police responded to Leighwood Trail Saturday night to a call for a possible stabbing.

Once deputies arrived on scene, they were informed that an individual had been stabbed and was transported to Halifax Regional Hospital by private vehicle, Clark said.

The authorities responded to the hospital and were notified that a subject was being treated for stab wounds to the neck and shoulder area.

An investigation is continuing, the sheriff said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lieutenant Mike Womack or Deputy Tyler Clarke at 434-476-3339.
