Cigarette bandit hits Supply Line

Halifax County authorities are searching for a cigarette bandit that struck Supply Line in the wee hours of Monday morning.

According to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark, the culprit broke out the glass of the front door to gain entry into the store around 4 a.m.

An employee notified deputies of the break-in around 5 a.m., when Deputy W. F. Cross responded and found the broken glass in the front door and $5,000 in Marlboro, Marlboro Light and Newport cigarettes had been taken.

Investigator C. S. Hudson is following up on leads and evidence collected at the scene, Clark said. 

Anyone with information pertaining to the early Monday morning break-in and cigarette theft from Supply Line is asked to contact the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 434-476-3334.
