Two suspects face charges of delivering drugs to a prisoner

A 32-year-old South Boston woman and a 46-year-old South Boston man, both of Berry Hill Road, face multiple felony drug charges stemming from an alleged attempt to deliver drugs to an inmate at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Tamara Logan Rowland and Dwayne Edward Cash each face felony charges of delivering drugs to a prisoner, distributing a Schedule III substance and conspiring to possess a controlled substance.

According to Sheriff Fred S. Clark, authorities from the Blue Ridge Regional Jail contacted the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Task Force last Monday in reference to contraband that was found in a piece of mail addressed to an inmate in the facility. 

Upon investigation by members of the Task Force, Clark said it was determined to be a Schedule III substance that was confiscated by jail authorities. 

Deputy S. Britton served the warrants Thursday.

Cash was being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail with no bond, and Rowland was held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail under a $7,500 secured bond.

Lawrence W. Richardson, 26, of Slick Rock Road, Nathalie faces a felony drug charge of distributing a controlled substance.

Deputy S. Edmonds served the warrant Thursday.

 Tyrell Trevon Harris, 19, of Wilson Memorial Trail, Vernon Hill faces a misdemeanor charge of vandalism.

The alleged offense occurred July 2, and Britton served the warrant Thursday.

 Thurman F. Perkins Jr., 57, of Chatham Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Nov. 8, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrant Thursday.

 A 43-year-old South Boston man faces a charge of embezzling leased property, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Stewart Thomas Whitt of Peach Avenue was charged with the alleged offense, and Officer F. A. Powell served the warrant Thursday.

 Brittany Chanelle Barksdale, 21, of E. Bishop Drive, South Boston faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrant Thursday, and Barksdale was released on summons.

 Patrice Lorita Penick, 42, of Jefferson Avenue, South Boston faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting.

Bowen served the warrant Thursday, and Penick was released on summons.

 Steven Edmonds, 47, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Officer R. L. Lawson served the warrant the same day.

 Miyisha Younger, 21, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Cpl. J. C. Berry served the warrant the same day.

  Joyce Weidick, 49, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Berry served the warrant the same day. 

 La-phonso McCargo, 23, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of distribution of marijuana. 

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Officer J. B. Throckmorton served the warrant the same day. McCargo was being held on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
