South Boston man facing traffic violations

A 28-year-old South Boston man faces charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license, disregarding a stop sign and eluding police, according to South Boston Police Department records. 

Richard Anthony Jones of Philpott Road was charged with the alleged offenses, and Officer J. B. Throckmorton served the warrants Wednesday. 

Jones was held on a $7,500 secured bond.

Adam Lee Hughes, 31, of Hamilton Boulevard, South Boston faces a charge of violating a protective order and was issued a surety capias/bail release. 

Cpl A. E. Whitmore served the warrant and issued the capias Thursday, and Hughes was held on a $13,000 secured bond. 

 Elizabeth Crews Layne, 71, of Slick Rock Road, Nathalie faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting. 

Officer B. H. Smith served the warrant Thursday, and Layne was released on summons. 

 Delquan Lee Barksdale, 21, of Poplar Creek Street, South Boston faces a charge of larceny for shoplifting. 

Whitmore served the warrant Thursday, and Barksdale was released on summons. 

 Brandy L. Brooks, 24, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting, first offense at Walmart, according to South Boston Police Department records.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Officer T. N. Bratton served the warrant.

 Laqia N. Torian, 22, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting, first offense at Walmart.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Bratton served the warrant.

 Carolyn B. Coleman, 49, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting, first offense at Walmart. 

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Cpl. C. L. Song served the warrant.
