Two South Boston men were arrested early Sunday morning, one facing a charge of assaulting a police officer after South Boston Police assisted Halifax County Sheriff’s deputies with a disturbance at Love Shop Trailer Park.
According to South Boston Police Department records, 22-year-old Barry Tuck Jr. was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer after Sgt. G.M. Gilliam attempted to arrest Tuck on a charge of being drunk in public. Tuck also is charged with obstruction of justice and is currently being held without bond.
Corderal Hughes, 26, faces misdemeanor charges of being drunk in public and cursing in public.
Gilliam also served the warrants on Hughes.
