Attempted robbery probed

South Boston Police are searching for two suspects who were involved in an attempted robbery early Thursday morning at the American Pride Convenience Store on Wilborn Avenue in South Boston.

According to South Boston Detective C. L. Carswell, shortly after midnight, two males entered the store wearing masks. A store employee confronted the two subjects, and they left the store on foot.

The two suspects were dressed in black or dark-colored clothing. The store security video shows that the two subjects were outside the store for a period of time watching the store employees.

The two suspects were described as less than six feet tall. One subject was thin, and the other subject was heavyset, Carswell said.

Officer R. L. Lawson responded to the report of an attempted robbery.

Police ask anyone with information about the two suspects to contact South Boston Police Department at 434-575-4273 or Halifax County Crime Line at 434-476-8445.
