A 42-year-old South Boston man was arrested on five felony charges of distribution of cocaine following a search of his Wildflower Drive residence Friday.
Morris Marco Mitchell was arrested under task force indictment after a search warrant was executed at Mitchell’s residence, according to Virginia State Police Special Agent R. B. George, coordinator of the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force.
Additional charges are forthcoming in regards to the items seized as a result of the search warrant, George said.
The search led to the seizure of approximately 4.5 ounces of suspected cocaine valued at $12,600 and approximately 4 ounces of suspected marijuana at $1,120.
Three vehicles were seized as well as two motorcycles and a four-wheeler. Nine firearms also were seized from the residence, George said.
Cpl. Seth Bowen of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mitchell on the five felony charges of cocaine distribution.
Agencies participating in the arrest included Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, South Boston Police Department, Virginia State Police and Halifax Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force.
