Man faces assault, battery charge

A 52-year-old Virgilina man faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Jeffrey Lynn Bagby of Ninth Street was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Monday, and Deputy T. A. Mocarsky served the warrant Wednesday.

Patrick Van Anderson, 21, of Sweeney Trail, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Inv. C. S. Hudson served the warrant the same day.

 Joanna Barksdale, 40, of Grubby Road, Halifax faces a charge of trespassing after being forbidden to do so by a sign posted by authorized individual.

The alleged offense occurred July 9, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrant Friday.

 Michael Glen Broxton, 21, of Bold Springs Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Hudson served the warrant the same day.

 Benjamin Thomas Elliott, 29, of Red Bank Road, Virgilina faces   misdemeanor charges of being intoxicated in public and assault and battery.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Yancey served the intoxication warrant Monday, and Cpl. D. H. Barksdale served the assault and battery warrant Tuesday.

 Dylan Matthew Hunt, 23, of Meadowfield Court, Glen Allen faces a misdemeanor charge of being intoxicated in public.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Sgt. C. S. Yeatts served the warrant the same day.

 David Gus Collins Jr., 45, of Elliott Avenue, South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of refusing a blood or breath test, driving after having license revoked for an alcohol related offense and having a second driving while intoxicated offense within five to 10 years.

 The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Deputy T. H.  Clarke served the warrants the same day.

 Robert N. Moore, 57, of L.P. Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charges of violating a protective order.

The alleged offense occurred between Aug. 24 and Friday, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrant Friday.

 A 13-year-old juvenile faces a misdemeanor charge of violating the conditions of his or her release.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Deputy T. M. Clark served the warrant the same day.

 Rhonda Mae Woods, 42, of Melon Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice by threat.

The alleged offense occurred June 19, and Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Tuesday.

 Robert Eugene Farrar, 38, of Howard P. Anderson Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of violating a juvenile protective order.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Barksdale served the warrant Wednesday.

 Melvin Lee Richardson, 60, of Easley Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant Monday.

 Gary Franklin New, 53, of Willow Street, South Boston faces a charge of making threats over the telephone.

Officer T. D. Clay served the warrant Tuesday.

 Nathan E. Coleman, 62, of Box 95, Scottsburg faces a charge of being drunk in public.

Officer T. W. Bush served the warrant Tuesday.

 Joshua E. Brandon, 20, of River Road, South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor under age 21.

Sgt. S. L. Warf served the warrant Wednesday.

 Kerry Lawrence Clark, 33, of Glendale Drive, South Boston faces a charge of contempt of court. 

Officer A. C.  Davis served the warrant Thursday.
