Halifax woman faces charge in knife stabbing

A 46-year-old Halifax female faces a felony charge of malicious wounding, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Simone Anjunette Kirby of Ball Park Loop was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Monday, and Deputy W. G. Yancey served the warrant the same day.

According to Sheriff Fred S. Clark, Deputies Yancey, C. J. Yeatts, T. B. Sargent and J. L. Franco responded to a residence on Ball Park Loop for a domestic disturbance call at 10:39 p.m.

Willie M. Kirby told authorities he had been stabbed with a steak knife that resulted in a minor cut on his arm.

However, the victim said he did not wish to be transported by an ambulance to the hospital.

Simone Kirby is being held in Blue Ridge Regional Jail under no bond, Clark said.
