Shots fired in dispute at SoBo motel

A 27-year-old Leesburg man faces seven charges stemming from an incident alleged to have occurred Saturday night just before midnight at America’s Best Value Inn on Highway 58 in South Boston.

According to Sheriff Fred S. Clark, Lee Sharome Foster faces charges of brandishing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, reckless handling of a firearm, endangering life, limb or property, resisting arrest, being drunk in public and assault and battery of a household member.

Deputies Sam Edmonds, W. G. Yancey and Sheriff Clark responded to the motel after a reporting party said a male had pointed a .380 caliber handgun at him and then discharged it twice into the air stemming from an alleged domestic dispute Saturday night.

Clark said South Boston authorities arrived on the scene first, and Sgt. G. M. Gilliam and Officer A. E. Whitmore had Foster in custody when county deputies arrived on the scene.

Following his arrest, Foster was transported to Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Halifax where he was held on a $3,500 secured bond, Clark said.
