Alton man faces felony charge

A 31-year-old Alton man faces a felony charge of distributing a controlled substance, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records. 

Brian Ellis Lowery, of Black Walnut Church Road, was charged with the alleged offense that occurred March 12, and Inv. T. A. Mocarsky served the warrant Friday.

James Osborne Edmonds Jr., 42, of Blue Rock Road, Vernon Hill faces two felony charges of child neglect.

The alleged offenses occurred Thursday and Friday, and Deputy J. M. Burton served  the warrants Friday.

 Billy Lee Smith Jr., 42, of Turbeville Road, Alton faces a felony charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Mocarsky served the warrant the same day.

  Christopher Lee Martin, 20, of Wagon Wheel Lane, Saxe faces misdemeanor charges of violating a juvenile protective order and assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offenses occurred July 29, and Deputy W. D. Carr served the warrants Thursday.

 Wanda Mae Hilber, 39, of Philpott Road, South   Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny.

The alleged offense occurred April 23, and Deputy W. G. Nunn served the warrant Friday.

 Mark Nathaniel Jackson, 57, of Owens Avenue, South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and refusing to take blood or breath test.

The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants the same day.

 Sean Dewayne Massenburg, 42, of Edmunds Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of writing bad checks.

The alleged offense occurred April 2, and Capt. T. E. Logan served the warrant Sunday.

 Christopher Dale Smith, 35, of Philbeck Crossroads, Skipwith faces a charge of violating a juvenile protective order.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Cpl. D. H. Barksdale served the warrant Monday.

 Dawn Elizabeth Ramirez, 40, of Turbeville Road faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Mocarsky served the warrant the same day.

 Kimber Leigh Crenshaw, 22, of Old Cluster Springs Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred July 31, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Monday.

 Gary Lee Foster, 55, of Delaware Street, Clover faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and Clarke served the warrant Tuesday.

 Marquel Johnson, 18, of Alder Trail, South Boston faces a charge of marijuana possession, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer A. C. Davis served   the warrant Sunday, and Johnson was released on summons.

 Brooke Ashley Pumphrey, 24, of Harris Drive, South Boston faces a charge of violating a protective order.

Officer J. B. Throckmorton served the warrant Sunday, and Pumphrey was held with out bond.

 Christopher Kenneth Pumphrey, 26, of Harris Drive, South Boston faces a charge of violating a protective order.

Officer B. H. Smith served the warrant Sunday, and Pumphrey was held without bond.
