Hunt continues for wanted Clover man

The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek the public’s help in locating Christopher Wilson Strange of Clover.

According to Halifax County Sheriff Fred S. Clark, Strange is wanted on two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of grand larceny and two counts of vandalism.

Clark said Strange is suspected to be driving a stolen 2013 ruby red Ford Lariat pickup truck bearing Minnesota license plate: 760-JEG.

Authorities suspect the pickup truck was stolen from a Rodgers Chapel Road residence, and they are warning that Strange may be armed and dangerous.

“Unfortunately we do not have any leads at this time but are still investigating,” said Clark.

At approximately 11 a.m. Thursday morning, investigators received information Strange was at a residence on Mill Road in Clover.

Upon their arrival, he fled into a wooded area behind the house, Clark said.

Deputy C.A. Bates V responded with his tracking canine and was able to track the subject for a distance.

It is believed a vehicle possibly picked up Strange at another location on Mill Road, Clark said.

Anyone with any information on Strange’s whereabouts is asked to notify the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office at 434-476-3334.
