Authorities charge Danville man on drug, driving counts

A 40-year-old Danville man faces a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license, possession of marijuana and preventing a lawful arrest, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records. 

Elvin Robertson III of Maple Grove Avenue was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Dec. 7, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants Thursday. 

John Owen Woody, 62, of Berry Hill Road, South Boston faces a charge of failure to appear in Brunswick County Court, according to South Boston Police Department records. 

Officer T.W. Bush issued the capias Thursday, and Woody was held on a $5,000 secured bond.

  Kristy Rebecca Chism, 35, of Farragut Avenue, South Boston faces a larceny charge for shoplifting. 

Bush served the warrant Thursday, and Chism was released on summons.

  Sherelle Monique Whitlock, 18, of Jeffress Trail, Alton faces a larceny charge for shoplifting. 

Bush served the warrant Thursday, and Whitlock was released on summons.

  Jerry Martin Jr., 31, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of violation of a court order.

The alleged offense occurred June 7, and Officer R. L. Lawson served the warrant Friday.

Martin was held with no bond.

  Marcell Walker, 20, of Clarksville faces a misdemeanor charge of shoplifting.

The alleged offense occurred Friday, and Officer J. B. Throckmorton served the warrant the same day.

  Levi Venable, 40, of South Boston faces three misdemeanor charges of being drunk in public, profane cursing in public and resisting arrest.

The alleged offenses occurred Friday, and Throckmorton served the warrant the same day.

  Shenique Terry, 21, of Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Officer R. J. Mead served the warrant the same day.

  Keywarren Brooks, 27, of South Boston faces two felony charges of distributing marijuana and possessing a firearm by a convicted felon.

The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Throckmorton served the warrants the same day.

Brooks was held with no bond.

  Delores Terry, 39, of South Boston faces a felony charge of malicious wounding.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Mead served the warrant Sunday.

Terry was held with no bond. 

  Robert Marshall, 25, of Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Mead served the warrant the same day.

Marshall was held on an unsecured bond.

  Deshawn Fallen, 24, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Sgt. G. M. Gilliam served the warrant the same day.
