Additional vandalism by BB gun discovered

A $1,000 reward is being offered to the person who can provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals responsible for shooting out 12 windows at Piedmont Glass on Webster Street in South Boston.

According to Capt. B. K. Lovelace of the South Boston Police Department, vandals shot out the windows at the vacant Piedmont Glass building using a BB gun or pellet gun sometime during the weekend of June 8-9.

Also that weekend vandals shot out a window at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center located on Bruce Street, Lovelace said.

The vandals also targeted three Riverdale businesses that same weekend shattering either front windows or doors with what appeared to be a bb gun.

According to South Boston Police Department Capt. B. K. Lovelace, Tangles Salon, Turn’N Headz Salon and La-guadalupa in Riverdale were “shot out with a bb gun possibly.”

We believe all these incidents are related,” Lovelace said.

The owner of Piedmont Glass is offering the $1,000 reward through Crime Line in hopes someone with information about these acts of vandalism will come forward, Lovelace said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Line at 476-8445.
