24 forgery charges lodged

A 31-year-old Halifax man faces 24 felony charges of forgery by check, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Mark Lovelace Crabtree of L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway was arrested Tuesday on the offenses that are alleged to have occurred on April 25, April 28, May 10, May 17, May 18, May 21, May 25, May 26, May 28, May 31, June 1 and June 4.

South Boston Police Officer C. M. Mann served the warrants Tuesday, and Crabtree was being held on a $35,000 secured bond.

Andrew Phillip Austin, 60, of Elkhorn Road, Java faces felony charges of adult abuse and neglect and assault with intent to maim.

The alleged offenses occurred Sunday, and Deputy D. W. Martin served the warrants Tuesday.

  Dolly Elizabeth Meade, 22, of Bethel Road, Scottsburg faces a felony charge of possessing a controlled substance.

The alleged offense occurred April 15, and Deputy T. A. Mocarsky served the warrant Wednesday.

  Aaron Michael Baker, 19, of Paradise Road, Alton faces misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Deputy J. M. Burton served the warrant the same day.

  Bionca Shanar’nae Jackson, 20, of Dood Street, Chase City faces a misdemeanor charge of vandalism.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Martin served the warrant Tuesday.

  Steven Ray Moore, 60, of Arrington Trail, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Capt. D. E. Martin served the warrant the same day.

  Robert Vincent Jones, 43, of Mount Calvary Road, Brookneal faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Feb. 28, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrant Tuesday.

  Wayne Earl Burgess, 57, of Halifax Road, Java faces a misdemeanor charge of making threats over the telephone.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Burgess was charged on Wednesday.

  Cameron J. Pinilla-Eisentein, 24, of River Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

Capt. Martin served the warrant Wednesday.

  Taj Marie Hall Jager, 38, of River Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Wednesday, and Cpl. D. H. Barksdale served the warrant Wednesday.

  Edward Dean Ballou, 36, of Philpott Road, South Boston faces charges of driving on a suspended or revoked license and having no valid registration, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer A. E. Whitmore served the warrants Tuesday.

  Tammie Deeann Davis, 26, of McGhees Mill Road, Roxboro, N.C., faces a larceny charge for shoplifting.

Officer R. J. Mead served the warrant Wednesday, and Davis was held on a $5,000 secured bond.
