SoBo police lodge felony assault charge

A 21-year-old South Boston man faces a felony charge of assault while applying pressure and misdemeanor charges of vandalism of telephone equipment and assault and battery of a family member, according Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Charles Nelson Mills of Randolph Avenue was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Thursday, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrants Monday.

Melanie Cusack Brown, 55, of Huell Matthews Highway, South Boston faces a felony charge of obstructing justice/resisting arrest and a misdemeanor charge of preventing a lawful arrest.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Deputy J. P. Adams served the warrants the same day.

 Jacob Ryan Wright, 23, of White Oak Drive, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Deputy C. A. Bates V served the warrant the same day.

 Floyd Logan, 66, of Mountain Road, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Bates served the warrant the same day. 

 Sharon Y. Featherston, 33, of Sinai Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Monday.

 Christopher Marcus Duffer, 34, of Buckshoal Road, Virgilina faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery on a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Tuesday, and Bates served the warrant the same day.

 Brandy M. Murphy, 24, of Memorial Drive, South Boston faces two misdemeanor charges of assault and battery.

The alleged offenses occurred Saturday, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrant Tuesday.

 Jeremy Dontray Polk, 25, of South Boston faces a charge of marijuana possession, according to South Boston Police Department records.

Officer F. A. Powell served the warrant Sunday, and Polk was released on summons.

 Jerry Lee Womack, 47, of Nathalie faces a charge of being drunk in public.

Powell served the warrant Sunday.

 Obed A. Ayala, 22, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

Sgt. R. D. Edmonds served the warrant Monday.

 Alvaro Vidal Ayala, 28, of South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public.

 Cpl. J. C. Berry served the warrant Monday.

 Emanuel Cruz-Jimenez, 25, of South Boston faces a charge of being drunk in public.

Berry served the warrant Monday.
