South Boston man faces seven drug charges

A 34-year-old South Boston man faces seven felony drug charges following his arrest by Halifax Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force officers Monday.

According to Virginia State Police Special Agent and Task Force Coordinator R. B. George, Samuel Link Woody II of Berry Hill Road was charged with five counts of cocaine distribution, one count of distributing a Schedule I/II controlled substance and one count of conspiring to distribute cocaine.

Agencies involved in Woody’s arrest include the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, South Boston Police Department, Virginia State Police and Halifax Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force.

Woody is being held without bond in Halifax Regional Adult Detention Center, George said.
