Extortion, assault charges lodged

A 20-year-old Halifax man faces felony charges of extortion, grand larceny and felony assault with intent to maim, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Steven Christopher Hubbard, 20, of L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Tuesday, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrants Wednesday.

Courtney Wendel Davis, 29, of Pumping Hill Road, Nathalie faces a felony charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle and misdemeanor charges of assault and battery and petty larceny.

The alleged offenses occurred Sunday and Feb. 7, and Deputy W. F. Cross served the warrants Tuesday.

 Chad Lacy Anderson, 29, of Berry Hill Road, South Boston was issued a felony capias for violating his probation.

The alleged offense occurred April 12, and Deputy C. A. Bates V served the warrant Monday.

 Sheila Jean Harrington, 51, of Sam Kirkwood Road, Moss Point, Miss. faces a misdemeanor charge of being drunk in public.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Deputy J. P. Adams served the warrant the same day.

 Bianca Conyetta Jones, 24, of Murphy Grove Road, Halifax faces misdemeanor charges of threatening bodily harm and vandalism of a motor vehicle.

The alleged offenses occurred April 7, and Clark served the warrants Sunday.

 Lashay Charice Carr, 29, of Cope Lane, Lynchburg faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred March 18, and Capt. T. E. Logan served the warrant Monday.

 Delquan Lee Jones, 22, of Bane Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred Oct. 12, and Deputy C. S. Hudson served the warrant Monday.

 Deaundray Ontario Martin, 19, of Riverdale Drive, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred April 5, and Bates served the warrant Monday.

 Rudy C. Farthing Jr., 47, of Randolph Drive, Keeling faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving.

The alleged offenses occurred Monday, and Cross served the warrants Tuesday.

 Amy Elliott Zimmerman, 46, of Logan Street, South Boston faces a charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred April 8, and Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Tuesday. 

 Cynthia Roberta Puryear, 47, of South Boston faces a charge of shoplifting, according to South Boston Police Department records. 

Officer T. D. Clay served the warrant Tuesday.

 Jasmine Char-Nae Foster, 18, of South Boston faces a charge of shoplifting.

Cpl. M. W. Bowen served the warrant Tuesday, and Foster was released on summons.

 Kevin Demario Powell, 23, of South Boston faces a charge of petty larceny.

Officer T.W. Bush served the warrant Wednesday, and Powell was held without bond.
