Police searching for suspect with counterfeit bills

South Boston Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to use counterfeit currency at Walgreens on Halifax Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to a report filed by Cpl. M. W. Bowen, at 1:09 p.m. a black male between the ages of 19 and 21, 5’4 tall and weighing about 150 pounds wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and sneakers entered Walgreens and attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill.  

The suspect had multiple $100 bills in his wallet, Bowen stated in his report. 

A second suspect stayed in the vehicle, described as a 1988 Buick red in color, Bowen said.
