Martinsville man faces drug, weapon charges

A 31-year-old Martinsville man faces felony charges of receiving a stolen firearm and possessing a controlled substance along with misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon, possessing marijuana and possessing a Schedule IV drug, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Marcus Sinclair Hairston of Banner Street was charged with the alleged offenses that occurred Saturday, and Deputy T. H. Clarke served the warrants the same day.

Mandy Leigh Hall Shelton, 29, of Cowford Road, Halifax faces two felony charges of forging a check, two felony charges of grand larceny, a felony charge of possession of stolen property with the intent to distribute, a felony charge of third offense petty larceny, a felony charge of being a convicted felon with a firearm, and a felony charge of fraud. She also faces misdemeanor charges of fraud, violating community diversion program requirements and two counts of contempt of court.

The alleged offenses occurred Oct. 7, Oct. 3, May 21, Dec. 10, June 1, June 23, June 25 and Oct. 15. 

Deputy C. S. Hudson served some of the warrants Friday, and Inv. T. A. Mocarsky and Deputy J. M. Burton served the remainder on Friday.

 Lawrence William Richardson, 25, of James Trail, Halifax faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance.

 The alleged offense occurred Sept. 8, and Sgt. Q. W. Clark served the warrant Saturday.

 Jonathan Martin Collins, 25, of Gap Road, Chatham faces a felony charge of grand larceny.

The alleged offense occurred Aug. 1, and Deputy W. G. Yancey served the warrant Monday.

 Clarence Hall Jr., 45, of Melon Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery.

 The alleged offense occurred Nov. 11, and Deputy J. P. Adams served the warrant Jan. 2.

 Harold Davis Link, 49, of Carrington Trail, Alton faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear in court.

The alleged offense occurred March 12, and Deputy T. B. Sargent served the warrant Jan. 2.

 Alan Dale Willis, 56, of Ed and Minnie’s Trail, Nathalie faces a misdemeanor charge of inflicting injury to an animal.

 The alleged offense occurred Dec. 29, and Clark served the warrant Thursday.

 Christopher Travis Stevens, 33, of North Main Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of harassment by computer.

 The alleged offense occurred Dec. 4, and Clark served the warrant Thursday.

 Al Cornell Covington, 49, of Chatham Avenue, Danville faces two misdemeanor charges of contempt of court.

The alleged offenses occurred Dec. 10 and Nov. 5, and  Deputy W. F. Cross served the warrants Thursday.

 Latasha Michelle Goddard, 31, of Sinai Road, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear in court.

 The alleged offense occurred Oct. 16, and Clark served the warrant Friday.

 McKenzie Adam Stevens, 22, of River Road, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of killing, injuring or poisoning livestock.

The alleged offense occurred Jan. 2, and Yancey served the warrant Friday.

 Thomas Lee Whitlock Jr., 53, of Maple Avenue, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court.

The alleged offense occurred Dec. 10, and Clark served the warrant Saturday.

 Michael Lee Chappell, 35, of Myrtle Street, South Boston faces misdemeanor charges of assault and battery and trespassing.

The alleged offenses occurred Dec. 31, and Clark served the warrant Sunday.

 Justo Mazariegos Campos, 41, of James D. Hagood Highway, Scottsburg faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member.

The alleged offense occurred Sunday, and Clark served the warrant the same day.

 Karen Anderson Walker, 39, L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway, Halifax faces a misdemeanor charge of violating a juvenile protective order.

The alleged offense occurred Monday, and D. E. Martin served the warrant the same day.

 Bradshaw Lamar Woody, 29, of Edmunds Street, South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of violating conditions of the community diversion program.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Deputy J. O. Tanner served the warrant Monday.

 Stephen Eugene Edmonds, 46, of Woodbridge faces a charge of being drunk in public, according to South Boston Police Office reports.

Edmonds was charged with the alleged offense Friday. 

 Joseph B Campbell, 19, of Virgilina faces a charge of marijuana possession.

Campbell was charged with the alleged offense Friday.

 Shawn L. Coleman, 33, of Halifax faces a charge of being drunk in public.

Coleman was charged with the alleged offense Saturday.

 Jonathon Christopher Mack, 24, of South Boston faces a charge of brandishing a firearm.

Mack was charged with the alleged offense Sunday and was held on a $1,500 unsecured bond.

 Dick Melvin Walker Jr., 44, of Halifax faces a charge of shoplifting.

Walker was charged with the alleged offense Sunday, and was held on a $2,500 unsecured bond.

 Jonas Walker, 76, faces a charge of driving under the influence.

Walker was charged with the alleged offense Sunday.

 Arianna Nicole Dawson, 21, of Nathalie faces a charge of  being drunk in public.

Dawson was charged with the alleged offense Monday.
