Nathalie man facing malicious shooting, firearm, assault charges

A 66-year-old Nathalie man faces a pair of felony charges and one misdmeanor charge stemming from an alleged fight that escalated into shots being fired Wednesday afternoon at a Nathalie residence, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

 

Robert Lee Wilborn of Millstone Church Trail was charged with attempting to maliciously shoot Adam King with the intent to maim, disfigure, disable or kill.

According to Lt. Steve M. Cassada of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, Wilborn admitted to Deputy W. G. Yancey he fired a shot but said he wasn’t trying to shoot anyone.

Wilborn also was charged with feloniously using a firearm in the commission of a felony, first offense and a misdemeanor of assault and battery of King.

Yancey served the three warrants on Wilborn Wednesday evening.

In other recent arrests:

w Anthony Gene Miller, 30, of Riverview, Florida faces a charge of being drunk in public, according to South Boston Police Office reports.

Miller was charged with the alleged offense Saturday.

w Shon Weddell Chappell, 52, of South Boston faces charges of assault and battery and being drunk in public.

Chappell was charged with the alleged offenses Saturday.

w Jeremy David Parker, 35, of Danville faces a charge of being drunk in public.

 Parker was charged with the alleged offense Sunday.
