Four SoBo residents face drug charges

Four South Boston residents face drug charges and are under indictment from task force cases, according to Special Agent Jay George III of the Virginia State Police and Halifax Regional Narcotics and Gang Task Force.

 

w George Chandler, 23, of Greens Folly Road, South Boston faces a charge of distributing cocaine.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, Oct. 4, and South Boston Police Officer J. J. George served the task force warrant when Chandler turned himself in at the police department.

w Dejuan Walton, 26, of Mineral Street, South Boston faces two counts of distributing cocaine and one count of conspiring to distribute cocaine.

The alleged offenses occurred Thursday, and South Boston Police Officer C. M. Mann served the task force indictment on Walton.

w Laverne Walker, 35, of College Street, South Boston faces two charges of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule II drug, one count of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule III drug and one count of possession of marijuana.

The alleged offenses occurred Thursday, and Mann picked up Walker at her residence and served the task force indictment.

w Norman Penick, 54, of Glendale Drive, South Boston faces three counts of distributing a Schedule IV controlled substance.

The alleged offenses occurred Thursday, and Sgt Q. W. Clark with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office served the indictment.
