South Boston man faces assault, battery charge

A 30-year-old South Boston man faces a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery of a family member, according to Halifax County Sheriff’s Office records.

Willie Andrew Lawson of Bane Street was charged with the alleged offense that occurred Wednesday, and Deputy W. G. Nunn served the warrant Thursday.

Carl David Hughes, 49, of South Boston faces a misdemeanor charge of trespassing, according to South Boston Police Office records.

The alleged offense occurred Thursday, and Officer R. J. Mead served the warrant Sunday. 

Hughes was released on a $1,000 unsecured bnd.

 Deaundray Martin, 19, of South Boston faces a misdmeanor charge of trespassing.

The alleged offense occurred Saturday, and Officer J. B. Throckmorton served the warrant the same day. 

Martin was being held on a $1,000 secured bond.
